Job summary

Signature Orthopaedics Europe in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, is seeking a Microbiologist & QA Associate for a permanent role with a salary of €40,000–€45,000 per annum.

We welcome a Microbiology or Life Science graduate with 1–3 years' experience. The role spans microbiology and quality assurance within a regulated medical device environment, offering growth in QA skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Life Science.
• 1–3 years' experience in microbiology, QA or related role.
• Good understanding of GMP/QMS documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine cleanroom and environmental monitoring per procedures.
• Perform environmental monitoring, product bioburden, water microbiology and other testing.
• Perform LAL/endotoxin testing and passivation monitoring.
• Maintain microbiology lab records per GMP/QMS requirements.
• Coordinate with external testing laboratories and sample management.
• Support investigations into out-of-specification results and excursions.
• Assist QA with day-to-day quality activities, batch record and label reviews.
• Coordinate calibration activities with external service providers and support NCRs/CAPAs.
