Job summary

Sisk Group in Ireland is seeking an MEP Lead to join the Life Science team. Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, you will deliver MEP systems across large and multiple projects on time and on budget.

You will guide and motivate teams, apply MEP management systems, and ensure commissioning and handover meet client satisfaction. Flexible and remote working offered; competitive salary, pension, car allowance, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience managing large scale MEP projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP supply chain dynamics.
  • Experience across Estimating, Pre-Construction, Installation, Commissioning and Handover.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and commercial skills for large projects.
  • Knowledge of H&S policies and live energy practices.
  • Experience implementing QMS, ITP and commissioning/handover plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivery of Building Services Strategy Plan in support of BU objectives.
  • Support MEP technical and commercial aspects of bids per company procedures.
  • Guide tendering and award of MEP packages per procurement strategy.
  • Ensure MEP teams address temporary electrical requirements with load/energy assessments.
  • Take overall responsibility for MEP project delivery and lead teams.
  • Plan resources to manage delivery of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Services Management Procedures & Project Execution Plans.
  • Oversee finalisation of installation and commissioning programs to integrate with main construction.
  • Coordinate drawing production for approval and construction.
  • Track equipment and plant from submittals to delivery and QA checks.
  • Manage QMS snagging and progressive inspections and handover activities.
  • Develop site-specific ITP & commissioning/handover plans with MEP contractors.

Overview

Opportunity for a MEP Lead to join the Life Science team.

Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, the MEP Lead has responsibility for the delivery of MEP systems across designated large and or multiple smaller scale projects that area on time, on budget and meet the companies Zero objectives of safety, Quality and Energy.

Of equal important is the necessity to guide, lead and motivate his/her teams in the application of our MEP management systems that will achieve our objective to deliver consistent fully integrated and commissioned MEP systems that will meet the specified design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handover with the building systems performing to the client's satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivery of the Building Services Strategy Plan in support of the Business Units Objectives
  • Support all aspects associated with the MEP Technical and Commercial parts of the overall Project Bid are executed in accordance with the Companies Pre Construction Manual Procedures
  • Provide guidance in the tender and award of MEP packages in accordance with the required contract Pre Construction and procurement strategy, and objectives.
  • Ensure MEP teams ascertain Temporary Electrical requirements for their projects including load and energy assessments in line with the Management System Guidelines.
  • Take overall responsibility for MEP Project delivery by providing the guidance, leadership and motivation to MEP teams reporting to him/her.
  • Support the planning for key building services resources to manage delivery of projects
  • Ensure MEP teams are Managing their Projects in accordance with the full suite of Building Services Management Procedures & Guidance documentation and specific Project Execution Plans (PEP)
  • Ensure teams execute the finalisation of Building Services Installation and Commissioning programmes to integrate with the main Construction Programme.
  • Ensure teams pursue the production of Co-Ordination and Builders Works Drawings for approval and Construction to meet the programme requirements
  • Ensure the teams implement the process of tracking of equipment & plant from submittal approvals through to samples and mock ups / ordering / FAT’s / delivery and quality checks is carefully managed.
  • Ensure teams manage the formal QMS snagging / quality walk downs and associated progressive inspection and sign off of the MEP Installation’s
  • Ensure teams are implementing and managing the development of site specific ITP & Commissioning / Handover Plans with the MEP Contractors.
Experience
  • Over 10 years work experience in managing large scale and complex MEP related Projects.
  • Good understanding of the MEP supply chain market and dynamics in which the company operates,
  • Professional Competence through operational involvement in all phases of large scale complex projects from Estimating, Pre- Construction, and installation, Commissioning, Demonstration and Handover.
  • Can demonstrate technical, effective interpersonal and commercial skills necessary to deliver large / multiple MEP Projects
  • Understanding of H&S policies and live energy practices and have positive safety values and behaviours.
  • Can demonstrate the drive for importance of implementation of QMS Systems, ITP & Commissioning Management / Handover plans.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Electrical Academic / MEP Technical related Qualification
  • Membership of an industry related Professional institution such as CIBSE / CIOB / IEI or equivalent
  • IOSH or equivalent H&S Management Training
  • Planning and Programming,Project Management,Live Energies / Arc Flash Training.
