Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Mayo to support project managers in the execution and delivery of mechanical installations across the west of Ireland. You will be involved in design, commissioning, and multidisciplinary collaboration to progress technical leadership on site.

The role requires at least 2 years in mechanical engineering or building services, a Level7 Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in mechanical engineering or building services.
• /n
• Level7 Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM) and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and international building codes and standards.
• Ability to coordinate teams, communicate effectively, and solve problems on the ground.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support project and contract managers in planning and delivering mechanical installations across the west of Ireland.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary engineering assignments with exposure to design, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability policies and maintain documentation.
• Prepare and review technical documents (Method Statements, Risk Assessments, coordinated drawings).
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, design teams, and site staff for efficient project delivery and handover.
• Track and report on project progress, budgets, and compliance; implement value engineering where appropriate.
• Lead site inspections, manage handover files, and uphold quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and support a positive, high-performance site culture.
