Job summary

Guardian Doors, part of the GDWM Group, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter or Plumber for our Mayo manufacturing facilities and company-managed properties. The role covers maintenance of factory equipment, water treatment systems, and pneumatic controls, with a focus on reliability and safety.

Candidates should have hands-on experience in mechanical fitting or plumbing, a methodical fault-finding approach, and the ability to work independently or with the factory team and external contractors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair pipework, pumps, valves, and water treatment equipment.
• Identify and fix leaks and faults in compressed-air and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns promptly.
• Undertake plumbing and general maintenance across factory facilities and properties.
• Assist with equipment installations and improvements.
• Work safely and keep records of maintenance updates.

Mechanical Fitter / Plumber – Factory & Property Maintenance

Guardian Doors, is a part of the Grady Window Manufacturers Group, founded in 1979, and have grown from a small family run business into a market leader in the door and window manufacturing industry across Ireland and the UK.We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter or Plumber to support the maintenance of our factory equipment, facilities and company-managed properties.

A domestic plumber with good fault-finding skills and an interest in working with industrial equipment could be an excellent fit for this role.

The work is varied, covering plumbing, water treatment equipment, pneumatic systems and general mechanical maintenance across our manufacturing facilities, alongside maintenance and repairs at properties managed by the company.

The role includes:

• Maintaining and repairing pipework, pumps, valves and water treatment equipment.

Experience with pneumatics or water treatment equipment would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from domestic plumbers keen to broaden their skills.
