Job summary

Vickerstock are seeking a Mechanical Fitter for our Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford site. You will work with Engineering and Operations to maintain and service production and packaging equipment, ensuring reliable operations.

The role requires a qualified or time-served Mechanical Fitter with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read drawings. A 2-shift pattern with a 20% shift premium and a permanent, full-time contract are offered.

Qualifications

Qualified or time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent trade qualification.
Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with production or packaging machinery.
Good knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and mechanical drives.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Carry out mechanical maintenance, fitting, assembly and repairs
Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults on production equipment
Complete planned preventative maintenance
Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
Install, align and adjust components including bearings, shafts, gearboxes, pumps and conveyors
Support line changeovers and mechanical adjustments
Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
Work closely with Production to support daily targets
Complete maintenance logs, work orders and technical documentation
Support engineering and continuous improvement projects
Ensure all work meets H&S, food safety and hygiene requirements

Vickerstock are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a growing food manufacturing business based in Enniscorthy.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or time-served Mechanical Fitter to join a busy manufacturing environment, maintaining and supporting production and packaging equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

The Role

Working closely with the Engineering and Operations teams, you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across the site, supporting production and minimising downtime.
