Jones Engineering in Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Estimator based at the Damastown office (Dublin 15). The role focuses on tendering across sectors and coordinating the full tender process with the project team and suppliers.

The successful candidate will have 1–2 years’ experience, a mechanical qualification, and strong Excel/Sheets skills to support detailed cost estimation and supplier evaluation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and time management skills essential.
• A strong analytical mindset with excellent negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills especially in the use of Excel/Google Sheets/etc.
• Problem solving skills with attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

Responsabilités

• Tendering a variety of projects in Ireland, across a range of sectors.
• Involvement in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Site walks with construction team.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules etc.
• Liaising with relevant parties/supplies/subcontractors.
• Evaluate, analyse & validate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
• Issue tender RFIs and review client response with Estimating Team.
• Attend meetings and site visits when required.
