A leading medical device manufacturer in Galway is looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to create and modify CAD models and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should have a Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo. This role involves maintaining design documentation and supporting various design control activities.

Qualifications

  • Level 6 or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, CAD Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo (PTC), or AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with ISO and ASME drawing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of medical devices.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure manufacturability.
  • Assist in the development of prototype tooling and fixtures.

Mechanical Engineer
Graduate Mechanical Engineers with strong SolidWorks or CREO experience required to join the mechanical engineering team in Galway’s world leading multinational medical device manufacturing client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of medical devices, assemblies, and components using SolidWorks and/or Creo.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure design intent and manufacturability.
  • Assist in the development of prototype and production tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Maintain and manage design documentation, CAD libraries, and drawing registers in line with quality system requirements.
  • Support Design Control activities including drawing release, document control, and change management (ECOs).
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input from a drafting and documentation perspective.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve drawing or specification-related queries.
