Job summary

Veolia Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Team. You will work on water and wastewater projects across the island of Ireland, focusing on mechanical equipment selection, hydraulic design and technical specifications.

You will collaborate with the design team to translate concepts into drawings, perform calculations, and support end-to-end project delivery from feasibility through detailed design and tender pricing.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering design fundamentals.
• Experience with pumping systems and hydraulics.
• Ability to perform design calculations and produce specifications.
• Experience in water industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design solutions for water and wastewater projects.
• Select mechanical equipment and specifications for systems.
• Create hydraulic designs, plant layouts and P&IDs.
• Produce detailed design drawings and procurement specs.
• Coordinate with draughting, electrical and civil/structural teams.
