Job summary

Synergy Recruitment Partners in Cavan is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative manufacturing team. You will design distribution transformers to customer specifications and collaborate with cross-functional groups to deliver high-quality products.

The role requires hands-on design with 3D CAD (CREO), strong engineering fundamentals, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. On-site work and occasional travel are expected to suit project needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma.
• Proficient in CREO and MS Office, with ability to read and develop technical drawings.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with quality conformance standards.
• SAP experience and a full, clean driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for customers and shop floor.
• Direct and coordinate prototype manufacturing and liaise with R&D to improve design efficiencies.
• Optimize product designs to meet specific customer requirements.

Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you will design distribution transformers in line with customer specifications and play a key role in expanding our capabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high standards of product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical specifications, detailed drawings, and documentation for customers and the factory floor.
• Direct and coordinate prototype manufacturing and liaise with R&D to improve design efficiencies.
• Optimize product designs to meet specific customer requirements.
• Work directly with production teams to ensure all design specifications are met.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with 3D design software (e.g., CREO) and MS Office.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with quality conformance standards.
• SAP experience and a full clean driving license are preferred.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel for business as required.
