Job summary

Ethos is seeking a motivated Project Design Engineer - Mechanical with 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design within building services to join our Engineering Studio in Ireland. You will own defined project tasks and lead smaller projects from concept through to completion, supporting building services across commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical environments.

You will work under limited supervision, champion QA, and coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design within building services consultancy.
• Based in Ireland to be considered for this position.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee specific elements of design work and coordinate with other disciplines; may supervise junior staff on assigned tasks.
• Champion QA across projects, audits, and internal QA systems.
• Manage and maintain the project mechanical design file and contribute to design standards.
• Lead mechanical systems from concept to commissioning and handover.
• Develop detailed mechanical specifications, tender packages, and reports with value engineering.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
