Job summary

ABEC Inc is seeking a Mechanical Assembler in Fermoy, Cork, Ireland. The role focuses on mechanical assembly of products using hand tools and equipment, with training provided. Experience with stainless steel fabrication and ability to read drawings is advantageous.

The position may require occasional travel to customers' sites and factory work in a manufacturing facility. Junior certificate is required, with a trade qualification (Pipe fitter / Plumber) being a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading of drawings and measurement.

• Able to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components using hand tools and equipment.
• Work on stainless steel products including cutting, grinding and polishing.
• Perform mechanical assembly to required specifications.
• Inspect and maintain safe operation of shop equipment.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift with training provided.
• Follow safety procedures and assist as needed.
• Travel to customer sites when required.

Position Summary

As an ABEC Mechanical Assembler you will perform mechanical assembly of products using a variety or tools and equipment according to requirements, training is provided for applicants with the ability to learn and develop existing mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Working with hand tools, manufacturing equipment and measuring devices.
• Work on stainless steel product, including but not limited to:
• - Cutting tube, Operate hand grinders.
• - Polishing and cleaning stainless steel products.
• - Mechanical Assembly activity.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly process.
• Operate overhead crane and/or forklift. (training provided)
• Inspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipment.
• Conduct operations in a safe manner.
• Execute other tasks as assigned.
• Ability to travel when required.

Qualifications

• Junior certificate or equivalent.
• Trade qualification (Pipe fitter / Plumber) would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience in working with Stainless Steel, tanks, piping and vessels would be beneficial.
• Ability to read tape measure and perform simple mathematical equations.
• Ability to read drawings and build product to specification.
• Proficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication tools.
• Typical work is in our manufacturing facility or occasionally at customer’s site.
