Job summary

ThreatDown is seeking an MDR Associate Analyst to join a team delivering 24/7 detection and response services for customers. You will work on real-time incident detection, validation, remediation, and reporting with a strong emphasis on proactive threat research and collaboration.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in cybersecurity or related fields (or 2+ years of experience) and excellent analytical, communication, and confidentiality skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze log data and real-time alerts; report validated incidents to customers.
• Investigate and validate alerts and follow playbooks for remediation actions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff as needed.
• Prepare incident reports outlining threat characteristics and remediation steps.
• Provide peer review for incident reporting and support ongoing SOC improvements.
• Manage customer issues and requests and identify process improvements.

We want somebody with a real passion for defending the cyberworld. You’ll be part of a team providing professional cybersecurity services for ThreatDown customers, helping to defend and remediate against all manner of cyber threats. It’s more than a job, it’s a mission.

ThreatDown MDR Associate Analysts detect, contain, and remediate advanced threats to protect our customers. You will be primarily focused on real-time incident detection, validation, remediation, and reporting. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate strong curiosity, advanced research capabilities and a proactive commitment to staying current with evolving cybersecurity threats and technologies.

Compensation: 55,000 Euro

Work Schedule

Wednesday - Sunday (11pm - 9:00am)

What You Will Do

• Support 24/7/365 Managed Detection and Response efforts:
  • Monitor and analyze log data and/or alerts generated by ThreatDown security technologies in real-time; elevate and report validated security incidents to our customers.
  • Investigate and validate alerts.
  • Handle incidents as defined in playbooks and standard operating procedures and advise our customers on remediation actions.
  • Escalate difficult or complex issues to more experienced staff, as appropriate.
  • Prepare incident reporting for customers outlining the threat, its characteristics, and possible remediation activities.
  • Provide peer review for incident reporting.
• Manage and track customer issues and requests.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Handle situations in a productive and professional manner.
• Support the development of the SOC through project work.

Skills You'll Need To Have

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) required in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or 2+ years of related experience).
• Ability to gather and analyze information in a methodical and efficient manner, develop a clear understanding of ongoing activity, and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
• Ability to be self-directed, taking initiative and executing tasks independently.
• Some knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux environments.
• Understanding of IP networking, IT security and network security fundamentals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and collaborative attitude.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a high level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.

Nice To Have Skills

• Familiarity with standard productivity software and communication tools including word processing applications, e-mail, Slack, Discord, Zoom, etc.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, EC-Council CSA, CySA+, ISC2 CC, etc.
