Job summary

Boston Scientific Corporation in Galway seeks a Manufacturing Technician II for night shifts. You will work with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot and improve injection moulding processes, develop equipment changes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants should have a ≥3 years hands-on experience with injection moulding in manufacturing, a STEM qualification (HETAC Level 6+) and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• HETAC Level 6 qualification or higher in a STEM-related discipline.
• A qualification in Polymer, Polymer Processing Technology, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience with injection moulding in manufacturing.

The shift for this position is Nights. Job Purpose:Part of Core Team to respond to equipment, yield and process related issues, implement corrective and preventative actions to eliminate repeat instances.Responsibilities:Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, trouble shooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.Interface with a variety of BSIL personnel and with outside vendors when necessary while performing the above.Take responsibility for preventative maintenance procedures with an assigned process or area.Assists in implementing technical improvements under the teams Continuous Improvement Program.Yield Management – Ability to manage yield on an hour-by-hour basis and analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement.Problem Solving – Formal problem solving is desirable.Strong mechanical problem-solving skills essential. Follow systematic root cause problem solving and troubleshooting to resolve issues.Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance, completing all associated paperwork and records.Effective analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems.Assist ME’s in investigating and implementing new production methods.Assist ME’s in design methods, part sourcing and documentation.Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their manager.Qualifications and ExperienceHETAC Level 6 qualification or higher in a STEM-related discipline.
