Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a GMP‑experienced technician at our ocular implant manufacturing site in Westport, Ireland. You will clean and operate manufacturing equipment, weigh and process implant batches, and document batches per GDP and GMP standards.

You will follow site safety rules, assist with non-conformance investigations, and ensure manufacturing status is reported on schedule. Collaboration across teams and adherence to SOPs are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow instruction accurately.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of the product manufacturing equipment and the manufacturing facility.
• Manufacture of batches of ocular implant products as per GMP. Manufacturing processes include weighing, sieving, milling, blending, mixing, extrusion, cutting and measurement of product implants.
• Complete batch file documentation accurately as per GDP.
• Needle inspection and needle plugging as part of batch manufacture.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, GDP, and site SOPs; ensure safety rules are followed.
• Attend Tier, Departmental and Project Meetings as required.
• Provide information and participate in investigations for non-conformances.
• Report manufacturing status versus schedule in a timely manner.

• Cleaning of the Implant manufacturing equipment and the manufacturing facility
• Act in compliance with all site safety rules and report all safety related events.
• Provide information and perform investigation tasks in support of effective non-conformance management.
• Timely communication and reporting on manufacturing status versus schedule.
• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with GMP, relevant SOP's and policies.
• Attend all meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instruction accurately.
• Basic understanding and demonstrated ability to set up and operate manufacturing equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Third level qualification in science or engineering is preferable but not mandatory.
