Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Sourcing Manager in Ireland to research, analyze, and evaluate sources, negotiate the lowest Total Cost of Ownership, and lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect materials.

You will lead sourcing events, drive cost savings, build supplier relationships, and align with business leaders. A strong background in category management, ERP/Procure‑to‑Pay, and global IT project delivery is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred.
  • 6 years of category management and strategic sourcing experience.
  • 5 years managing medium to large global IT projects with financial impact.
  • ERP and Procure‑to‑Pay exposure preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and contract knowledge required.

Job description

As a Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating the best and least expensive sources (vendors, manufacturers and suppliers of goods and services. You will negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) product costs and/or services with approved suppliers. You will work cross functionally to lead sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing events from planning through vendor engagement, evaluation and selection
  • Ensure cost competitiveness and high service levels within assigned categories, capitalizing on synergies and drawing on internal and external resources to align priorities and interests.
  • Implement efficient strategies and processes to facilitate transactional and strategic buying activities to ensure adequate supplies and services are available at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Take lead and own cost savings initiatives
  • Support internal customers by identifying and maintaining relationships with major suppliers and industry analysts gathering insight to better understand suppliers' key differentiations, technology roadmaps and business models with the goal of identifying opportunities to improve the overall quality and best pricing of products and services,
  • Build relationships with business leaders as well as other business units and functions
  • Manages and leads functional teams involved in sourcing initiatives ensuring adequate visibility to all stakeholders
  • Formulate and track key metrics associated with assigned categories: cost savings and avoidance, quality, reliability and working capital efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors' Degree in Supply Chain or a Business related field is required
  • Masters' Degree in Supply Chain or a Business related field is required
  • 6 years of relevant experience utilizing best practice category management and strategic sourcing processes to improve the cost, quality, and service level of direct and indirect materials and services is required
  • 5 years of demonstrated ability to manage medium to large global IT projects with significant transformation and financial impact is required
  • 6 years of collaborating with business operations and functional groups is required
  • 6 years of preferred experiencing overseeing the design and implementation of a strategic sourcing function transformation, including strategy, organization, processes, and technology is required
  • 5 years of ERP systems' exposure is preferred
  • 5 years of solid knowledge and support of Procure 2 Pay processes is preferred
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and knowledge of key contractual language is required
  • Experience with online sourcing platforms is required
  • Financial acumen to develop complex financial models, including Total Cost of Ownership models is required
  • Practical problem-solving approach to business issues, business-minded, results-oriented, and a team player is required
  • Ability to influence individuals and teams with or without reporting relationships is required
  • Excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills is required
