Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a permanent role in Ireland. The position involves two-week rotation shifts (Mon-Fri days and Mon-Fri evenings) and supports production on a shift basis while ensuring plant equipment runs reliably.

Responsibilities include identifying spares, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing breakdowns, and coordinating with vendors. Candidates should have hands-on experience with pumps, motors, and various mechanical/electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, grinding & milling machines.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics and electrics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain spare parts and tools to ensure timely maintenance of plant and equipment.

• Respond to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure spare parts stock for all major processes and equipment.
• Support production on a shift basis as required.
• Improve production equipment through improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors on site.
• Carry out maintenance in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics and service manuals.
• Communicate issues with Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.
• Assemble/install new machines and monitor sensors.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain spare parts and tools to ensure timely maintenance of plant and equipment.


• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and repair optimal equipment as required by preventative maintenance schedules and suggest improvements.


• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.


• Ensure spare parts in stock for all major process' and equipment.


• Supporting Production on a shift basis as required.


• Continuous improvement of production process equipment, by identifying and implementing improvement projects that will improve the operating effectiveness of equipment.


• Coordination and liaison with vendors, site contractors and external specialist contractors, engaged in work on site


• Performs maintenance in compliance with health and safety regulations, procedures and accepted practices.


• Reading, analysing and interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, to carry out work.


• Communicating existing and potential issues with Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.


• (Dis)Assembling/Installing new machines, conditioning & monitoring sensors/equipment etc.

Person Specification

• Experience of hands-on of mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps, motors, grinding & milling machines


• In depth knowledge and understanding of a variety of machines with respect to maintenance and repair


• Should have sufficient experience in pneumatic, hydraulics, mechanics, electrics


• Excellent Communication Skills.


• Strong Problem -Solving Skills.


• Good Team Member Skills.


• Well organised and ability to organise tasks.


• Available to work overtime including weekends, Public Holidays as required.


• Qualification in Industrial Automated Technician advantageous or background in Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical and/or Electrical Knowledge.
