Job Description
We are recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Cork. This position reports to the Operations Engineering Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor manages day-to-day Maintenance Department activities on site to ensure that all products are manufactured to GMP guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and maintenance excellence through our MEP (Maintenance Excellence Programme). They will also ensure that the Equipment P.M. & Calibration schedule, stores stocks, and spare parts list are maintained and up to date.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Organize staff within the department, including holiday cover and TMS review, and oversee timekeeping and holiday requests.
- Ensure maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to perform maintenance safely, timely, and cost-effectively.
- Maintain training, safety awareness, attendance records, and ensure technicians are trained on the latest operating procedures.
- Responsible for all facility and utility maintenance and upkeep.
- Organize, control, and report on Preventative Maintenance / Calibration activities.
- Manage work requests, control, and reporting.
- Assist in preparing departmental budgets.
- Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, time, and maintenance history.
- Maintain calibration systems and ensure compliance, including managing discrepancies, KPIs, and SOPs related to calibrations.
- Lead department audits.
- Supervise Reliability Engineering activities, including reporting and data analysis to improve equipment availability and reduce downtime.
- Identify and solve problems promptly and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Initiate projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
- Participate in Change Control committees for equipment modifications.
- Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions, assessing competency, knowledge, and contribution.
- Ensure all statutory inspections related to maintenance are completed.
- Enforce safety programs within the maintenance department, reviewing safety records to uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
- Craft qualification in electrical or mechanical trades.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar environment.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
