Job summary

Hunter Savage seeks an Engineering & Facilities Manager for a food manufacturing site near Derry/Donegal. You will lead a small engineering team, oversee plant and equipment including refrigeration and effluent systems, and drive a robust PPM programme alongside reactive maintenance.

The role requires strong maintenance expertise, 4–5 years of supervisory experience, and a proactive approach to compliance and continuous improvement. A clean driving licence and suitable commute are essential.

Qualifications

  • HNC or higher qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or multi-skilled expertise across both disciplines.
  • 4 to 5 years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of modern maintenance techniques and PPM implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and confidence in liaising with external bodies.
  • A clean driving licence and the ability to commute within 30 to 60 minutes of the site.

Description: A well-established food manufacturing business located just outside Derry City is seeking to appoint an experienced Engineering & Facilities Manager to take full ownership of the site services function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to lead a small engineering team and oversee all aspects of plant and equipment, including refrigeration, effluent plant operations, and facilities maintenance. This hands-on leadership role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively balance reactive maintenance with the implementation of a robust planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme.

The Person
