The Role

We are looking for a hands‑on, experienced Yard Manager who will take ownership of our busy outdoor yard in Naas. This is not a desk job—you will be on the ground, managing machinery movements, organising stock, and ensuring the yard runs safely and efficiently in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily organisation and layout of the machinery yard.
• Safely manoeuvre heavy plant, tractors, and construction equipment around the yard.
• Operate the forklift to move, stack, and position machinery and heavy parts—including lifting uneven loads (not just palletised goods).
• Direct drivers and visitors, ensuring smooth entry and exit of transport vehicles.
• Conduct daily safety checks and maintain a tidy, hazard‑free outdoor workspace.
• Assist with loading/unloading machinery for auctions and customer collections.
• Work collaboratively with the auction and sales teams to ensure accurate inventory placement.

The Ideal Candidate – Must‑Haves

• Valid Forklift Licence (essential).
• Full, Clean Driving Licence (essential).
• Proven experience driving and handling heavy machinery (tractors, loaders, or plant equipment).
• Demonstrable experience lifting unbalanced/uneven loads with a forklift (e.g., attachments, parts, or damaged machinery – not just standard pallets).
• Comfortable working outdoors in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment, regardless of weather.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to safety.

Nice‑to‑Have (Plus)

• Formal Manual Handling training or certification.
• Previous experience in the agricultural, plant hire, or auction industry.
