Job summary

Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. in Killarney, Ireland, is seeking a Machine Operator for the Cutting Hall. You will operate various machines and workstations, and use cranes with lifting gear to move steel parts while following drawings and Q-Gates to ensure quality parts match customer requirements.

You will plan tasks, rotate between machines, and uphold safety standards with PPE. The role offers overtime, pension and progression opportunities within a leading global crane manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a busy machine workshop.
• Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to tasks.
• Good working knowledge of geometric tolerances and engineering drawings.
• Experience operating machines, steel cutting, plasma cutting and gas torch.
• Experience using lifting equipment and cranes is desirable.
• Experience using oxyacetylene for steel cutting is an advantage.
• Be flexible, proactive and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to rotate between machines and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and understand control functions of machines and workstations.
• Use cranes and lifting equipment for handling steel parts.
• Follow documentation, drawings, quality gates and production control systems.
• Perform quality checks and maintain records.
• Plan tasks and tools to maintain workflow.
• Be flexible to move between machines when required.
• Keep workspace clean and safe and wear PPE as required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
