About this role

As we strive to provide even better service to our customers, we are seeking a new driver to join the team, initially on a 2 year contract. This role will be based out of our Drogheda terminal and will require daily travel, delivering gas to our customers, therefore excellent customer service and safety standards are a must for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuous and ongoing communication with the distribution office to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Providing excellent customer service as per customer service bonus criteria
  • Inspect vehicle before and after use as per statutory requirements and company maintenance checklist
  • Loading and unloading the tanker and filling customer-owned tanks as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records and vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
  • Comply with all applicable laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Immediately notify the Logistics office of malfunctioning equipment or condition that needs immediate action and follow up with Terminal or Maintenance Manager
  • Adhere to and comply with company practices, policies and procedures always
  • Comply with all legislation relevant to driving an HGV
  • Participate in all/any Health, Safety & Welfare Training as offered, including the wearing of PPE and supporting your Health and Safety Representative
  • Actively look for hazards when carrying out your duties and take appropriate action to remove and report to the Manager
  • Always professionally conduct yourself with colleagues and customers and forge strong working relationships
  • Complete all tasks to the best of your ability and the highest standard
  • Carry out all reasonable tasks and requests as assigned by the Distribution Office
  • Ensure effective time management & task prioritisation during your working day
  • Ensure discretion and confidentiality relating to company information is always maintained
  • Strictly adhere to the requirements of the Flogas LPG Road Tanker Drivers Manual, Company Works Instructions (including all on-site emergency plans and road tanker emergency plans) and all related Health & Safety Manual and policies
  • Comply with Tachograph regulations and with the Working Time Directive.
Role Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should possess the following prerequisites and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • A minimum of ten years verifiable driving experience;
  • Valid Driver CPC Card;
  • Clean Category E + Driving Licence (no endorsements);
  • ADR Licence;
  • Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience and knowledge of handling the hazardous product, preferred;
  • Excellent Safety Record;
  • Good Customer Service, Interpersonal and communications Skills;
  • A positive can-do attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Familiar with logistics technology and on-board computer systems;
  • Highly organised, efficient and eager to provide excellent customers service to our customers;
  • You will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments
