Job description

Overview

Salary: $17.00 hourly

The full-time Local Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering building materials to customer job sites using a pickup truck. You may also operate a forklift and maintain the lumber yard and warehouse. Must have a valid state-issued driver's license and a safe driving record; CDL is not required.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Building loads for delivery and unloading freight including lumber and building supplies
  2. Operating a forklift (training and certification provided)
  3. Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard and warehouse
  4. Communicating delays or discrepancies with management
  5. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Be at least 21 years old
  2. Read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
  3. Safely operate the assigned commercial motor vehicle
  4. Provide a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) annually, including violations or certificates as required by law
  5. Be physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle according to federal standards
  6. Not be disqualified under federal law to operate a commercial vehicle
  7. Complete or have completed a driver's road test and hold a valid certificate
  8. Depending on the truck/hauler, may require a commercial driver's license
  9. Depending on the truck/hauler, may require a valid Medical Exam certificate or card
  10. High school diploma or GED
