Job summary

Orona MidWestern Lifts in Limerick is seeking an Apprentice Lift Engineer to join our team. You will work with experienced Lift Engineers to learn and progress toward becoming a qualified lift engineer.

The role offers a 4-year Electrical apprenticeship with SOLAS, on‑the‑job training, and exposure to lift installation and maintenance, safety compliance, and a wide range of experiences with our team in Limerick.

Qualifications

• Be qualified to Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard.
• This must include five passes in the Leaving Certificate (Maths and English must be two of these).
• Submit an Ishihara colour vision test – it must be on the SOLAS form.
• Ideally hold a Full Clean Irish Driving Licence - Commercial Use Car Insurance cover on your vehicle used for business travel.

Responsibilities

• Learn and complete a 4‑year Electrical apprenticeship, supported through SOLAS.
• Undertake tasks suited to your training level in the lift industry.
• Attend SOLAS coursework and complete it on time to a high standard.
• Assist and liaise with Managers/Supervisors on relevant work activities.
• Understand and apply electrical principles related to lift installation and lift maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety practices in current legislation.

We are looking for 1 Apprentice Lift Engineer to join our team in Limerick. As an Apprentice Lift Engineer you will work with experienced Lift Engineers to learn and understand the company and requirements to become a qualified Lift Engineer.

What you need to be successful:

• To complete a 4 year Electrical apprenticeship, supported through a structured in-house development programme in conjunction with SOLAS.
  • To undertake a range of tasks suited to the current level of training and development in the lift industry
  • Attend SOLAS and complete course work on time and to a high standard
  • Assist and liaise with Managers / Supervisors on relevant work activities
  • Understand and apply the electrical principles associated with lift installation and lift maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems
• Ensure compliance in all Health and Safety practices in current legislation

Employment is subject to an interview, reference checks and you must meet the minimum entry requirements for an Electrical Apprenticeship.
