Legal Executive - Athlone / Hybrid
My client, a leading organisation in the pharmaceutical industry based in Athlone, is looking to recruit a Legal Executive to join their in-house legal team. The role reports directly to the Head of Legal and will be responsible for supporting the team in providing high-quality legal and compliance support across all areas of the business. This is a permanent role based in Ireland, commencing in Q4. Ideally 1-2 days office based and the remainder based from home, depending on location of successful candidate.
The successful Legal Executive will be responsible for:
- Drafting and reviewing a wide variety of commercial contracts (including distribution, partnership, services, clinical trial agreements and NDAs) and other legal documentation with suppliers, customers, service providers, business partners, and third parties.
- Assisting with contract lifecycle management, including monitoring renewals, obligations, and compliance requirements.
- Supporting corporate governance and company secretarial matters, such as CRO filings, preparation of board documentation, scheduling meetings, and tracking transaction progress and deadlines.
- Conducting legal research and preparing concise summaries on legislative and regulatory developments.
- Managing legal documentation, filing, and administration in an organised and confidential manner.
- Monitoring and interpreting new legal and regulatory developments across key markets, advising on their potential impact to the business, and ensuring internal policies and procedures remain aligned.
The successful Legal Executive will be:
- Experienced with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant legal experience, ideally gained through a mix of top-tier commercial/corporate law firm and in-house roles.
- Commercially astute, with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
- Highly knowledgeable in Irish contract law and corporate governance.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficient in IT, including document management systems, legal research tools, and case management software.
- Capable of working independently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Analytical and research-driven, with the ability to interpret statutes and case law, identify legal risks, and summarise findings clearly for the in-house legal team.
