Job summary

Newcode.ai is seeking a Legal Engineer to sit at the intersection of law, product, and customer success. You will understand clients' Swedish legal workflows, translate requirements for Engineering, and drive adoption across practice areas with AI-enabled solutions.

This client-facing role requires travel within Sweden and occasional trips to Oslo and other parts of Europe, with Stockholm as the primary work location.

Qualifications

• Experience practising law in a Swedish law firm.
• At least three years of relevant legal practice experience.
• Swedish law degree (juristexamen) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience from a law firm, judicial clerkship, in-house legal role, knowledge management, or legal operations.
• Hands-on experience with AI, such as training users or building AI-powered tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues in Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Own customer relationships from onboarding through long-term adoption and success.
• Lead onboarding sessions, workshops, and pilot programs with measurable success metrics.
• Translate customers' legal workflows into scalable AI-enabled solutions and prompts.
• Collaborate with Engineering to ensure product development reflects customer needs.
• Travel within Sweden and to Oslo, Norway and other parts of Europe as needed.

Role Overview

This is a client-facing position in which you will work directly with customers and translate their requirements for our Engineering team. As a Legal Engineer, you will own customer relationships and become a trusted partner, taking the time to understand how each customer works, the challenges they face, and where Newcode can have the greatest impact. As the bridge between our customers and Engineering, you will combine legal expertise, product thinking, and customer success skills to ensure our platform solves real-world problems and continues to evolve based on customer needs.

This role focuses on customers in Sweden and requires regular travel within Sweden and periodic travel to Oslo, Norway as well as in the rest of Europe. The primary work location is Stockholm, Sweden.

Key Areas:

Drive Legal Innovation

• Partner with law firms, their partners and innovation teams, and Newcode’s Engineering team to design and deliver AI-powered solutions that address real legal challenges.

• Design, build, and continuously refine AI-enabled, agentic workflows that fit how law firm customers work, address practical use cases, and deliver measurable value through automation and process optimization.

• Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s legal workflows, business objectives, and operational challenges in the context of Swedish legal practice, and translate their requirements into scalable solutions, optimized prompts, and practical use cases.

• Document best practices and create reusable playbooks to accelerate future customer implementations.

• Stay on top of the latest AI developments and translate relevant advances into practical solutions for law firm customers.

Own the Customer Journey

• Own customer relationships from onboarding through long-term adoption and success, acting as a trusted strategic advisor who helps customers succeed with AI.

• Lead onboarding sessions, workshops, and pilot programs; establish success metrics; and proactively address adoption challenges to drive use across teams and practice areas.

• Lead regular meetings with clients to understand their priorities, review progress, and align on next steps.

• Partner with Sales to support renewals, identify expansion opportunities, and contribute to long-term customer growth.

• Identify emerging market opportunities and evolving customer needs to help shape Newcode's product strategy.

Drive Adoption & Strategic Enablement

• Serve as the voice of the customer within Newcode by gathering, prioritizing, and communicating customer feedback to Engineering, ensuring customer insights influence product development and future innovation.

Minimum Requirements

• You have experience practising law at a Swedish law firm.

• You have at least three years of relevant legal practice experience.

• You hold a Swedish law degree (juristexamen) or an equivalent legal qualification.

• You bring relevant experience from a law firm, judicial clerkship, in‑house legal role, knowledge management function, or legal operations team.

• You have hands‑on experience with AI, such as training users, leading an internal rollout, or building an AI-powered tool.

• You can communicate clearly with clients and colleagues in both Swedish and English.

Interview Process:

Stage 1: Screening Call

Stage 2: First One‑on‑One Interview with Newcode Legal Engineer

Stage 3: Second one‑on‑one interview in person in Stockholm

Stage 4: Interview with C‑level.

Reference check and hiring decision is made within two weeks of reference checks.
