Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Experimental Particle Physics within UCD School of Physics.
The appointee is expected to undertake a research programme of international repute in high-energy experimental particle physics, as a member of one of the CERN LHC experiments CMS or LHCb, complementing and broadening existing research in the School that includes electroweak and top physics, diffraction and ultra-peripheral collisions. Interdisciplinary research includes collaboration with the UCD Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine, and the School of Computer Science.
The successful candidate will actively seek funding at national and international levels, show leadership in building their research group, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, supervise research students in MSc and PhD programmes, and establish collaborations within and outside UCD.
The candidate will also contribute to teaching BSc and MSc programmes, including classroom and laboratory teaching, supervision, and curriculum development. They will work to enhance teaching and the student experience.
Salary will be on the appropriate scale, aligned with experience and current Government pay policies.
