Job summary

Maples Group in Dublin is seeking an accomplished Learning & Development Lead to head our global L&D initiatives within our financial services business. You will design internal learning solutions across e-learning, classroom, and live webinars, emphasizing facilitation and delivery.

You will lead the Instructional Design team, partner with HR and stakeholders to identify learning needs, and shape a comprehensive strategy.

Qualifications

  • Third level degree in Business, Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in a learning and development role with design, coordination or management and instructor-led delivery.
  • Train the Trainer qualification or facilitation development is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
  • Ability to create high-quality updates and presentations with key messages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; skilled in Articulate, Camtasia, video editing and Adobe Suite.
  • Experience in developing soft skills and management training is an advantage.
  • Experience coordinating learning programmes at regional/global level.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Learning & Development Lead to join our Learning & Development team as part of our financial services business in Dublin.

As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Dublin office opened its doors in 2008. Located in the city centre, a commitment to service excellence and investment in our people quickly established Dublin as a regional hub where our 200+ teammates deliver best‑in‑class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.

The L&D Lead is responsible for the design and development of internal learning solutions for the Maples Group, in a variety of delivery formats, such as e‑learning, classroom training, printable training materials and live instructor‑led webinars, with emphasis on facilitation and classroom delivery. The L&D Lead will also be responsible for the programme delivery or facilitation required to deliver instructor led L&D programmes within the Maples Group. The L&D Lead will work closely with all members of the global L&D team on all matters relating to design, development and delivery of global L&D initiatives.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Partner with direct team members, HR colleagues and the wider business to identify learning needs in line with current and future talent requirements.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Instructional Design team, ensuring high quality learning solutions through effective work allocation, capability building and performance development.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Director and L&D colleagues to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive learning and development strategy and policies.
  • Collaborate with functional areas and subject matter experts to identify target audience training needs to design and deliver appropriate training solutions. Developing learning solutions, particularly instructor‑led materials (slides, facilitator guides, learner guides). Collaborate and support e‑learning content development with Instructional Designer colleagues.
  • Facilitate in‑house soft skills and management skills programme in classroom settings and online.
  • Coordinate all activities relating to Maples Group Leadership Development activities including executive education programmes in collaboration with colleagues across the group and external vendors.
  • Utilise new technologies and innovative strategies to improve learning and development processes where possible. Collaborate with L&D colleagues to achieve efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide regular progress updates on learning plans and initiatives.
  • Administrative duties linked to programme delivery, including reporting, scheduling and releasing of training via the Learning Management System. Collaborate with Global L&D Programme Coordinator regarding programme coordination and record keeping.
  • Acting in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal risk management requirements, including complying with policies and procedures.
What You Bring

In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:

  • Third level degree in Business, Education or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in a learning and development role which involved aspects of learning design, programme coordination or management and programme instructing or facilitation (Instructor led delivery).
  • Train the Trainer type qualification or completed personal development on facilitation skills an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Ability to create high quality, insightful written updates and presentations with key messages
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Experienced and skilled in range of instructional design tools (Articulate suite, Camtasia, video and sound editing, adobe suite)
  • Experienced in developing soft skills training, behavioural training, management skills training an advantage.
  • Confident and capable verbal communicator, with experience of delivering training and communicating to a variety of audiences.
  • Experienced in coordinating learning programmes at a regional or global level. This would involve liaising with local stakeholders (i.e. HR Colleagues, Management)
  • Ability to partner with SMEs and distill their knowledge into teachable chunks.
  • Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats for a specific set of learning goals.
  • Ability to work within pre‑defined templates, where necessary.
  • Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail.
  • Ability to scope and handle the day‑to‑day work of projects independently.
  • Willingness to travel to facilitate soft skills and management skills programmes in classroom settings. Ability to manage time and priorities to ensure scheduling is effective.
