Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join the Business Operations team. You will ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of critical applications, support production readiness, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

Observability: apply tooling to collect, analyze, and visualize metrics, logs, and traces for incident detection and improvement.
Programming & Scripting: write and maintain Python, Go, Bash scripts to automate tasks and runbooks.
Systems Administration: configure, operate, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems and networks.
Cloud Computing: design, deploy, and manage apps and infra on AWS, Azure, or GCP; ensure security and scalability.
Reliability & Scalability: build high-availability, fault-tolerant systems with disaster recovery.
DevOps Practices: implement CI/CD, containers, and orchestration to speed delivery.
Troubleshooting: diagnose and resolve complex issues across infra and applications.
Capacity Planning: monitor usage and forecast needs for future growth.
IT Service Management: apply incident, change, and problem management principles.
Proactive Monitoring: use signals to anticipate problems and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

Develop as subject matter expert in the Site Reliability Engineering area, guiding stakeholders and driving improvements.
Implement and maintain high-availability system solutions, ensuring stability and performance.
Lead automation and scripting efforts to streamline operational processes and incident response workflows.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues to maintain health and proactively address risks.
Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to grow organizational expertise.
Contribute to documentation and best practices to improve team procedures.
Conduct reviews and QA activities to uphold standards for system stability.
Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies in reliability and automation.
Collaborate to drive continuous improvement and reliability across products.
