Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of applications powering global operations. You will mentor teams, drive automation, and define runbooks and operational standards.

You will champion observability, capacity planning, and incident response across cloud environments, while ensuring compliance and rapid recovery in a fast-paced fintech context. Mastercard values collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Observability tools and scripting to collect, analyze, and visualize metrics, logs, and traces.
• Proficient in Python, Go, Bash or similar languages for automation.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems and networking components.
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications and infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Design and operate high-availability, fault-tolerant systems and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Be a developing subject matter expert in SRE, influencing stakeholders and contributing to improvements.
• Implement and maintain high-availability system solutions with emphasis on stability and performance.
• Lead automation and scripting to streamline operations and incident response workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and escalate to keep systems healthy.
• Contribute to documentation and best practices for team reliability.
