Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Messaging Infrastructure in Dublin. You will lead a team building live, event-driven messaging services across multiple channels, owning key components from ingestion to delivery.

You will design scalable backend services in Python and/or Go, ensure low-latency, high-throughput performance, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product, compliance and platform teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience building and operating online, real-time distributed systems.
• Experience with production services measured in events/second and latency metrics.
• Proficient with streaming or message-queue platforms (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Architecting distributed, event-driven systems at scale with high throughput.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers building live, low-latency messaging services.
• Own architecture of key components in Klaviyo's messaging pipeline from ingestion to delivery.
• Design and implement scalable backend services in Python and/or Go for real-time workloads.
• Mentor engineers and drive best practices in system design and engineering process.
