Job summary

Careerwise Recruitment seeks an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Design Simulation) to lead end-to-end simulation projects in FEA, CFD, and ray tracing for a Limerick-based medical device manufacturer. You will develop reusable workflows, automate processes, and provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, run training sessions, and validate simulations against data, quantifying uncertainty to support design decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Optical Engineering, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
6+ years proven experience delivering industrial FEA and CFD projects.
Experience with ray tracing for optical/lighting simulation or related workflows.
Experience with commercial and/or open-source tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, and others.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end simulation projects in FEA, CFD and ray tracing.
Develop and maintain reusable simulation workflows, templates, and automation.
Provide technical consultation to design, test and systems engineering teams.
Mentor and upskill engineers through training sessions and code reviews.
Validate results against test data and quantify uncertainty; guide design decisions.
Optimize throughput using HPC, GPU acceleration and solver settings; manage resources.
