Job summary

Mastercard’s Distributed Platform organization is seeking a Lead System Platform Engineer to architect, design, and implement server-based solutions with a strong emphasis on automation, deployment, and platform lifecycle management.

The role focuses on engineering activities while providing escalated support to Operations. You will collaborate with Security, program teams, and cross-functional partners to raise platform reliability and efficiency, in a Dublin-based, on-site capacity.

Qualifications

• Advanced system administration experience with Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems, capacity planning, and performance optimization across compute environments.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with automation technologies like Chef, Ansible, Puppet, and/or Shell scripting.
• Intermediate to advanced skills coding in Ansible/YAML, Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
• Proficient to advanced leadership experience growing, mentoring, and motivating a team.

Responsibilities

• Proven track record in engineering test automation frameworks and improving efficiencies via automation.
• Design, test, and implement automation for internal processes in server builds and OS management.
• Collaborate with Operations as Tier III support to troubleshoot OS and applications.
• Develop processes and documentation to improve infrastructure functionality and efficiency.
• Lead lifecycle management including patching and OS image updates.
