Job summary

IC Resources, in partnership with a leading deep-tech company in optical communications and photonics, seeks a Principal Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer in Ireland. You will own complex optical mechanical systems from concept through integration, testing and qualification.

With 12+ years in opto-mechanical design, you will lead cross-disciplinary teams, apply advanced CAD/FEA tools, ensure high reliability and thermal stability, and tackle vibration and environmental challenges in

Qualifications

12+ years of relevant engineering experience with opto-mechanical or precision mechanical design.
Advanced 3D CAD and FEA experience (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ANSYS or equivalent).
Expertise in precision optical assemblies, alignment, tolerance analysis and thermal stability.
Experience managing vibration, structural integrity and environmental challenges.
Background in space, aerospace, photonics or other high-reliability engineering environments.
Familiarity with ECSS, MIL-STD or equivalent engineering standards.
Strong technical leadership skills and experience working across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead designs from initial concept through detailed development, integration, testing and qualification.
Take technical ownership of complex optical systems.
Influence engineering decisions and solve challenging technical problems.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-reliability designs.
