Job summary

Eligo Recruitment is supporting a leading engineering and construction business in Dublin to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. You will lead the mechanical design on major, data-centre-like projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams from design through commissioning.

You will review designs, drive VE and improvements, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring robust risk management and successful handover.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design function on major projects.
• Coordinate design consultants and subcontractors.
• Review and validate mechanical designs, calculations and submissions.
• Drive value engineering and design improvements.
• Support procurement and equipment selection.
• Coordinate BIM and multidisciplinary design activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop the engineering team.
• Manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
