Job summary

Danone Specialized Nutrition in Macroom, Ireland, seeks a Packaging Engineer – End-of-Line (EOL) to own the end-to-end packaging systems, including conveyors, checkweighers, labeling and palletizing, across installation, commissioning and qualification activities. You will coordinate with EPCM partners, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Packaging/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years engineering experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharma, or nutrition manufacturing.
• CAPEX, equipment installation, or greenfield/brownfield project experience.
• Strong exposure to EOL packaging technologies (conveyors, inspection, labelling).
• Experience engaging OEMs and cross-functional teams.
• Sherpa qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own EOL packaging systems including conveyors and printers.
• Lead installation, integration, commissioning, and IQ/OQ/PQ for EOL.
• Deliver FAT/SAT, performance testing, and ramp-up to OEE targets.
• Troubleshoot EOL equipment during construction and start-up.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&I, EHS, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Interface with EPCM partners, OEMs, and construction teams.
• Support CAPEX scope, cost forecasting, and schedules.
• Ensure EOL compliance with GMP/HACCP and hygienic design.
• Develop SOPs, cleaning routines, and spare-part strategies.
