The Opportunity
The Lead of the End User Tools team is responsible for enabling the business to work more efficiently and make more data-driven decisions through the safe, well-governed adoption of AI, analytical and automation tools. Today this means Microsoft Copilot and the Power Platform; over time it will extend to other capabilities as they emerge. The Lead of the End User Tools owns the End User Tools strategy and operating model, builds and runs the Centre of Excellence (CoE), and acts as the principal point of contact and evangelist for the team across the organisation. The role balances strategic direction and stakeholder influence with hands-on understanding of the platforms, and is built around a "rules, schools and tools" model — governance and guardrails (rules), training and enablement (schools), and access to and provisioning of the right capabilities (tools). Success is measured by adoption, efficiency gains and value realised across the business — not by experimentation alone.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the End User Tools Team and contribute to the development of EirGrid's citizen solutions strategy and roadmap.
- Partner with business leaders and teams to identify opportunities to simplify work, improve decision-making, remove manual effort, and deliver measurable business value through the use of approved technologies.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, stakeholder engagements, and use case assessments to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Build trusted relationships across the organisation and act as a strategic advisor on the effective use of AI, automation, analytics, and low-code technologies.
- Develop and deliver adoption, communication, training, and change management plans that support successful and sustainable business outcomes.
- Promote the effective use of Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, and other approved citizen solution platforms across the organisation.
- Develop and deliver demonstrations, workshops, learning programmes, and awareness campaigns that increase user capability and confidence.
- Enable business teams to design, build, and manage their own solutions within approved governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Establish and promote standards, guardrails, and best practices for responsible use of AI, automation, analytics, and low-code technologies.
- Work closely with IT, Cyber Security, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and other stakeholders to ensure citizen solutions align with organisational policies and standards.
- Identify opportunities for intelligent agents, automation, reporting, and low-code solutions, and coordinate specialist support where required.
- Monitor adoption, business outcomes, user satisfaction, and organisational capability, and provide regular insights and recommendations to leadership teams.
- Develop the capability of the End User Tools Team through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of responsible innovation, continuous learning, experimentation, and self-service problem solving across the organisation.
- Act as a role model for collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Measure and communicate the business value delivered through citizen solutions, including productivity improvements, process simplification, reduced manual effort, and increased organisational capability.
