AIR Sligo is seeking a dynamic Controls Engineer to join our automation team in Sligo. You will design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for bespoke automation equipment, collaborating with a skilled engineering group on diverse global projects.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Min 5 years relevant experience creating machine control systems.
• Ability to program AB Control Logix and Siemens S7.
• Familiar with configuring, commissioning and debugging common machine networks and drive systems.
• Experience with Cognex/Keyence machine vision.
• Keen interest in engineering technology and cutting-edge automation.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Willing to travel as required and take ownership of milestones.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and specifications for equipment from User Requirements.
• Develop and debug PLC/HMI/Robotics/Motion Control/Vision programming.
• Research, develop and implement new control technologies.
• Coordinate and manage controls elements of build and debug of equipment.
• Ensure controls work to schedule and budget and liaise with customers.
• Develop relationships with suppliers for equipment procurement.
• Oversee design, commissioning and safety of controls systems.
• Provide guidance to junior staff to realise designs and milestones.
