The Lead Architectural Technologist will provide all relevant technical support to MOY's extended customer base, including but not limited to approved contractors, surveyors, architects, main contractors, public authorities, local councils, clients and all end users. The role will involve close communication and collaboration with Technical Management, Sales and Business Development, Design, Operations and Site Field Technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Expertise
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in waterproofing systems, materials, and best practices.
- Coordinate accurate and timely technical responses to client queries, supporting their project needs.
- Provide technical guidance to customers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct site inspections on new and existing projects, providing on-the-ground technical support.
Documentation & Specifications
- Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, project specifications, and templates.
- Draft bespoke project drawings and specifications with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare and review BIM Revit models to integrate with project workflows and ensure alignment with architectural and structural requirements.
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Engage in design meetings and collaborate with architects, engineers, and industry professionals.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.
- Conduct technical training sessions for installers/industry professionals, enhancing technical knowledge across the team and client base.
Product Development & Market Analysis
- Contribute to the development of new waterproofing products and technologies, focusing on sustainability and innovation.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry advancements to improve technical services.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of building regulations, insurance requirements, and client-specific needs within the European, Irish, and UK markets.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend industry events, conferences, and training courses as required.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support business operations.
- Support the Technical Services Department in developing technical content for company platforms, including NBS, the website, and external marketing materials.
Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and waterproofing systems.
- Proactive approach to site inspections and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of professionals.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to sites across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building regulations is an advantage.
- Experience with architectural drawing, BIM (Revit), and project specifications is an advantage.
- Strong interest in sustainability and its impact on modern construction practices.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Construction Studies, or Environmental Science.
