Job summary

ToastTab is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the design and implementation of AI agents in the Team domain within our FinTech line. You'll drive scalable architectures, partner with Engineering Managers and Product Managers, and stay hands-on with code to push modern patterns in production.

You will mentor engineers, promote technical excellence, and align practices across the company while ensuring security, reliability, and performance in a distributed SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable distributed systems (AWS hosted preferred).
• Proven track record of leading complex technical initiatives from design to production.
• Strong enthusiasm for agentic development, LLM integration, and modern software paradigms.
• Ability to design high-level solutions while staying connected to code-level execution and performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with product leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical architecture for AI agents within the Team domain.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to translate roadmaps into designs.
• Maintain hands-on coding, prototyping patterns, and resolving bottlenecks under load.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Align practices with other Principal engineers to share best practices.
