Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the AWS Lambda Control Plane. You will design, build, and operate the distributed systems that connect customers to the Lambda data plane and own the full path from API request to running function.

You will work on high-throughput, globally available services, solving metadata propagation at scale and ensuring strong availability guarantees even during partial failures.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or architecting scalable distributed systems.
• Professional software development experience (non-internship).
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate distributed systems that sit between customers and the Lambda data plane.
• Own the full path from API request to running function and ensure public surface APIs are high-throughput and globally available.
• Design asynchronous workflows to propagate customer intent (new function, code deploy, version publish) safely across systems.
• Ensure metadata propagation at global scale with correct ordering guarantees, even under partial failures.
