Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I in Ireland to support routine laboratory analyses and data management.

The role requires organizing sample preparation, executing standard tests, and accurately recording results in the LIMS system. Ideal candidates will have a science diploma or degree and 1–2 years of lab experience, with strong English communication and proficiency in Excel and LIMS.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a science discipline preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in a relevant laboratory setting preferred.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Competency in Excel, Word and LIMS.
• Suitability as deemed by management (Site Lead).

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for testing and perform laboratory analyses.
• Conduct tests (pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, COD, BOD, TDS, Kjeldahl Nitrogen, etc.).
• Enter results accurately into the LIMS system.
• Maintain quality and compliance with ISO 17025:2017.

Key Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Education:A diploma or a degree in a science disciplineis preferable.
• Experience:Preferably 1–2 years of work experiencein the relevant laboratory area.
• Language:A good level of spoken and written English.
• IT Skills:Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Suitability:Any experience deemed suitable by management (Cawood Directors or Site Lead).

Core Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing laboratory analysis and ensuring quality compliance. Specific responsibilities include:

Laboratory Work and Data Management

• Preparatory work for samples that require testing.
• Performing laboratory testing, including common parameters such as: pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Suspended Solids, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Organic Matter, Kjeldahl Nitrogen and more.
• Inputting of the correct results onto the LIMS system.
• Kaisen mindset.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025:2017.
• Bringing any non-conformances or potential areas of improvementto the attention of the Analytical Lead and or Site Responsible Person (SRP)
• Completion of quality recordsas necessary.
• Filing of work sheets.

Maintenance and Inventory

• Cleanlinessoftheir work area and equipment used.
• Implementation of 5’s system.
• Monitoring stock levels of chemicals/consumablesused.
• Correct storage of samples.
