Job summary

Medtronic in Ireland is seeking an Analytical Chemistry professional to support receiving, in-process and final lot release activities, including preparing solutions, recording observations, and data evaluation. The role emphasizes GMP/GLP compliance and a proactive, cross-functional team approach in a regulated laboratory setting.

Requires NFQ Level 6 with 2 years' relevant experience and knowledge of LC/GC techniques.

Qualifications

• Requires Analytical Chemistry or related Science degree.
• NFQ Level 6 degree with 2 years' relevant experience.
• Knowledge of LC, GC and Wet Chemistry techniques is desirable.
• Good understanding of GMP/GLP required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical testing to support receiving, in-process and final lot release activities.
• Prepare routine solutions and reagents and perform routine reactions.
• Make and record observations; perform calculations; and collect data for evaluation.
• Adhere to GMP/GLP and safety procedures.
• Participate in Laboratory investigations and deviations, initiating corrective actions and following through to implementation.

A Day in the Life

A Day in The Life Of:

• Perform routine analytical testing to support receiving, in-process and final lot release activities
• Perform a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions
• Make and record observations; perform calculations; and collect and prepare data for evaluation
• Conduct laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware
• Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements
• May analyse compounds and manage corporate compound collection
• Performs technical procedures in one of the following areas: Production,
• Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental
• Participate in Laboratory investigations and deviations, initiating appropriate corrective actions and following through to implementation
• Adhere to all Laboratory and relevant site wide procedures and practices for Safety & GMP

Key Skills & Experience

• Requires Analytical Chemistry or related Science degree
• Minimum requirement NFQ Level 6 degree with 2 years' relevant experience
• Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education
• Knowledge of LC, GC and Wet Chemistry techniques is desirable
• Good understanding of GMP/GLP required
• Dynamic team player
• Can work effectively and proactively on cross functional team
