Job summary

Sanmina Fermoy, in Fermoy, Ireland, seeks a Lab Quality Technician to join the Quality Department. The role centers on final product release testing in a regulated laboratory, with 12-hour rotating shifts that include days, nights, and weekends, plus shift allowances and a benefits package.

You will perform testing with analytical instruments, maintain meticulous documentation, support audits, and contribute to quality-process improvements while ensuring cGMP compliance.

Qualifications

• NFQ Level 6 or higher in a science related field, preferably with Laboratory based knowledge.
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in a regulated environment requiring strict documentation discipline.
• Experience working with analytical/testing instruments in a laboratory.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to write SOPs and training documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing using analytical instruments to support laboratory requirements.
• Operate lab software and equipment with basic proficiency.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail for accuracy and documentation.
• Be accountable for personal actions and review work of colleagues.
• Identify risks and solve problems per established guidance.
• Support cross-functional groups and train fellow technicians as required.
• Manage schedules to complete testing on time.
• Support quality process definition, setup, verification and improvements.
• Complete testing to ensure product meets customer specifications.
• Participate in internal audits to ensure Quality System conformance.
• Assist audits by demonstrating testing requirements and best practices.
• Escalate quality issues and conduct non-conformance investigations when needed.
• Support SMT line verifications and line clearance activities.
• Review and approve unplanned maintenance on assembly lines.
• Review Design History Records and verify contents against documentation requirements.
• Interact daily with MES and Oracle Agile systems to ensure correct assembly per spec.
• Maintain site quality standards and cGMP compliance.
• Identify safety improvements where appropriate.
