The Quality Controller – Data reviews results from the laboratory and reports them if they meet the company’s stringent quality control criteria. The company’s product is data. As a customer driven business, it needs to ensure the data they provide is of top quality. The Quality Controller (data) reviews results from the laboratory and reports them if they meet our stringent quality control criteria.

Key Accountabilities

• Review and report data. The Quality Controller – Data has responsibility for the data review and reporting process ensuring they deliver accurate data to our customers within timeframes set out by the customer.
• Suggest improvements to quality control and reporting to improve accuracy and reduce reporting times. There is always room for improvement and the Quality Controller – Data is a critical part of continuous improvement in their area.
• Report issues with data to the lab and assist in root cause analysis of issues. The Quality Controller – Data should be able to recognise where there may be issues with the data from the laboratory and assist in investigations.
• Ensure quality assurance standards are met. The business operates effectively only when our stringent quality assurance standards are met. The Data Analyst has a responsibility to act only within the guidelines of the Quality Management System.
• Research and Development. The Data Analyst may occasionally be called upon the assist the R&D team in data analysis.

Expertise

• Good mathematical and reasoning skills
• Good IT skills
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
• Experience working within the boundaries of a QMS and working with QA team to improve quality preferable
• Experience utilizing genetic analysis tools within a commercial service environment would be a strong preference
