Job summary

Windmill Healthcare Group is seeking a permanent full-time Kitchen Assistant for Clarinbridge Care Centre, Co. Galway. This role reports to the Head Chef / Director of Nursing - Person in Charge and supports meals, hygiene and service for residents, visitors and staff.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, uphold high hygiene standards and contribute to menu planning and resident satisfaction. Induction training and ongoing professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent English written and spoken.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Desirable: minimum 1 year experience in kitchen/catering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of all meals and beverages for residents, visitors, and staff to the required company standards of hygiene and economy.
• Prepare residents' trays and dining areas with necessary equipment, utensils and food in the required quantities and times.
• Clear and clean kitchen, dining areas and catering utensils using appropriate techniques and equipment as directed by the Chef.
• Advise residents on menu choices to provide maximum variety.
• Adhere to hygiene, health and safety, HACCP and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Assist with record keeping as directed by the Chef.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Line Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist in the preparation and service of all meals and beverages for residents, visitors, and staff to the required company standards of hygiene and economy.
• Preparation of residents' trays and dining areas ensuring that the necessary equipment, utensils, and food is available in the required quantities and at the required time.
• Clear and clean kitchen, dining areas, and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment as directed by the Chef
• Advise residents on menu choice in a way as to give maximum choice.
• Adhere to good practice with regard to hygiene, health and safety, HACCP, and COSHH Regulation at all times meeting all legislative requirements.
• Assists with record keeping as directed by Chef.
• Carry out other duties as directed by the Line Manager.

Experience & Skills

Essential

• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent level of English both written and oral

Desirable
