Kitchen Assistant - CE Scheme (Killucan Childcare Facility, Rathwire, Killucan)

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

The program will give successful applicants the opportunity for practical work experience of 19.5 hours per week in conjunction with studying towards a QQI Major Award in their chosen career. The work experience and training will enable applicants to secure future employment opportunities. All training cost are funded 100% through the programme. Applicants must supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. Short listing will apply.

Duties to include: Cooking duties in line with HACCP / Health and safety procedures for the provision of Food Service. Ensure cleaning duties comply with HACCP Standards in the childcare facility. Maintain equipment and report any hazards to coordinator. Report any concerns of health and safety immediately to Childcare Coordinator. Wear appropriate PPE to include Safety shoes and any other items provide for this position. Stock control, rotation of food and drafting purchases orders, assist with menu planning and the HSE HIP project. Location: Killucan Community Childcare Facility, Co. Westmeath.
