Job summary

Mowlam Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join Castle Gardens Nursing Home in Wexford, Ireland. You will assist with the preparation and service of meals and support cleaning of kitchen and dining areas to high hygiene standards.

You will work with residents, visitors and staff, maintain supplies, and help maintain food safety records. The role requires clear communication, reliability and the ability to work as part of a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or catering environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with good scheduling.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Fluent English written and spoken.
• Satisfactory references, medical and Garda vetting required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and service of meals and beverages for residents, visitors and staff.
• Prepare resident trays and dining areas ensuring that equipment, utensils and food are available in the required quantities and at the required time.
• Clear and clean kitchen, dining areas and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment as directed by the Catering Manager/Cook.
• Advise residents on menu choices in a way that provides maximum choice.
• Assist with record keeping as directed by Catering Manager/Cook.
• Carry out other duties as directed by line Manager.
