Job summary

Intersport Elverys is seeking a committed Sales Assistant to support daily store operations and the management team in the absence of leadership. You will drive customer-focused service, manage stock and deliveries, and contribute to sales growth.

The role requires flexibility for midweek and weekend shifts, with opportunities for progression. A welcoming, energetic team environment and product knowledge are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years retail experience.
• Warm, friendly and engaging personality.
• Great communication skills and delivering a great customer experience.
• Strong product knowledge.
• Experience in Visual Merchandising desirable.
• Ability to manage workload and delegate tasks.
• Trustworthy and honest.
• Proficient computer skills: Excel, Word, Email.
• Available to work at least one Sunday in four.
• Initiative to undertake additional tasks.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, end of day recovery and cashing up.
• Assign tasks to staff and ensure procedures are followed.
• Provide a personal and positive service experience to every customer.
• Maintain knowledge of product catalogue and current promotions.
• Engage with customers to recommend products that fit their needs.
• Lead by example with visual merchandising in store.
• Use store tools and systems like assisted selling, Safesize, e-receipts, radio systems.
• Coordinate and forward cash, stock and reports in the absence of management.
• Ensure daily deliveries and stock management procedures are followed.
• Ensure end of day recovery is completed to standard.
• Carry out other retail duties: sales, customer experience, deliveries.
• Operate till and handle financial transactions, leaving a great last impression.
• Be security conscious to deter theft and protect stock.
• Back-up call out person when store management is away.
• Pursue personal development and undertake required training.
