Role Overview

A rapidly expanding distributor, headquartered in Athy, Co. Kildare, and active across Ireland, the UK, and international markets, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and results-driven Key Account Manager to lead and grow strategic client relationships within the Leinster region.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a commercially astute professional who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment and is passionate about delivering measurable results. You will be responsible for managing and developing key customer accounts, identifying new commercial opportunities, and fostering long-term partnerships that drive growth and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value accounts across the Leinster region.
  • Develop strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders to ensure long-term business success.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product and service offerings within existing accounts.
  • Act as a strategic partner to clients, understanding their business needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. operations, marketing, customer service) to ensure the seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all account activity using CRM tools and report regularly on performance metrics.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in key account management, business development, or B2B sales – ideally within distribution, safety products, or workplace solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and close high-value deals.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
  • Ability to analyse client needs and create tailored commercial strategies.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
