Job summary

Crown, Ireland's leading roofing, cladding and façade contractor, invites applications for a Junior Quantity Surveyor based in Roundwood. You'll join the Commercial team and work on major European projects, supporting the end-to-end commercial process from tender through final accounts.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline or relevant industry experience.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full driving licence.
• Willingness to work away from home on a rotational basis in Frankfurt, Germany.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tender preparation and pricing submissions.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities.
• Support interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Assist with procurement and supplier negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow.
• Maintain commercial records and site documentation.
• Assist with subcontractor management and payment applications.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Work closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Managers and site teams.
• Carry out site measurements and progress assessments.
• Ensure documentation is maintained accurately and on time.
• Support successful delivery of projects from start to finish.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll support the commercial delivery of projects from tender stage through to final account, gaining exposure to every aspect of Quantity Surveying on high-value construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of tenders and pricing submissions
• Carrying out quantity take-offs and preparing Bills of Quantities

Requirements

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline, or relevant construction industry experience
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full driving licence
• Willingness to work away from home on a rotational basis in Frankfurt, Germany

Desirable

• Experience working on roofing, cladding, façade or building envelope projects
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project or commercial software
